Colour test

This is my technical test/concept- to see how
the musical colour will work in the film.
This test was good but we require it to be slow
and to be accompanied by musical notes and
colour and shape of the line need adapting. So this
is a good method as it can be slowed down and
musical notes can be added just getting the
require shape may need some tweeking or a
new method.

week one over view:

we meet up and discused the story. At first we did a run through of the story to fully understand where this film was going. We then started filling in some blanks and tying up some lose ends. then we set about determining the begining middle and end. and the we did a run through scene by scene to asertain exactly what characters were in the film and how many evironments were need. we also discused the tecnical solutions to our ideas and how we would achieve the result that we require. by the end of the meeting we ended up with a solid story and the lectures were pleased with the out come.

so the characters are as follows-

Old Lady
Young lady
The accordionist
The husband ( of the old lady when she was young)
Finally the cat.

Environments-

Paris City scapes
Apartment (old lady’s apartment)
Street
Basement
Boulangerie (Bakery shop)
Street
Apartment
Paris City scapes.

and the final story-

A scene of the city of Paris, a melody can be heard from the far away distance. The camera pans down. In the street an accordionist is playing a loving waltz. Suddenly the echo of banging, crashing cups, interrupt the music. We follow the racket, which leads us to an old furnished apartment, where an old lady is chasing her cat with a broomstick.
The cat opens the window while trying to escape from his mistress’s blows. The melody rises into Ginette’s living room. She stops abruptly in her action. Curious about where the music is coming from, she walks to her window, looks down and see’s the accordionist at her door step.
She feels a fleeting sensation.
The scene changes to the old lady in a dimly lit basement, surrounded by silhouettes. They are all listening to the radio, Charle Degaule is calling to the French nation.
The scenes changes (as a flip up book), we are in a Boulangerie. Ginette can be seen nibbling a patisserie. The door bell rings. A man enters and hands a parcel to her: inside is Michael the cat.

The environment switches (flip book style) one last time. We are in the street, Ginette is dancing with a man (the same one who came and gave her the parcel) she has just got married. The camera stops, and pans out. We see a photo of her and her husband.

The camera continues to pan out, Ginette is dancing with her cat. An arm band (from the period of when she was in the resistance) is up her arm, and she is wearing the tiara she wore on the day of her wedding.
The camera continues to pan out. The accordionist can be seen playing a farewell, then panoramic view of the city of Paris.
